ECHS News Release Concerning School Threat

This weekend there were many concerns posted on social media regarding a threat made at the high school.  First, I can say with full confidence that there was no reported threat made toward any student, staff member or school during last week.

A message from our principal

It was brought to my attention that on Sunday afternoon a story was posted on social media. There was never a threat to our building, however KSP investigated this matter and concluded that the story was shared from Facebook concerning a threat made to another county. If you have any questions feel free to call the school. -Mrs. Williams

Spring Sports tryouts

ECMS has baseball, softball, track, football conditioning and soccer as spring sports. Tryouts for these sports will begin this week. Information has been announced at school. Each student must have a current sports physical and signed participation form to tryout.

Schools Closed

Over the past few days’ we have been in contact with many of the health care providers in Estill County.  As everyone is well aware, there have been several confirmed cases of the flu and we have seen a significant increase in the number of students and staff members that have become ill.  With this in mind, we feel it is necessary for us to cancel school for the remainder of the week.
