Superintendent Vacancy Estill County Schools Enrollment: Approx. 2,300 Pk-12
The Estill County Board of Education is seeking an innovative and motivational leader with strong proven leadership and a record of improving student achievement as its next superintendent. The successful candidate should have administrative experience and be an instructional leader who is committed to postsecondary and career readiness. It is important for the candidate to have the ability to effectively communicate with the staff and community, to carry out the vison that all students can succeed, as well as be visible in the community. The candidate should possess strong morals and ethics to always do what is best for students and staff. Knowledge and experience with budgeting, school finances, buildings and grounds, along with working knowledge of systems work and continuous improvement are required.
Estill County is located in the foothills of the Eastern Appalachian Mountains with 40 miles of the Kentucky River winding its way through the heart of the county. Estill County is home to Irvine and Ravenna which have a rich history and boasts beautiful scenery, small town charm, and welcoming hospitality. Over the past eight years, the district has invested in the future of our students with state of the art facility and safety upgrades along with a new Area Tech Center. Academically, the Estill County School district has a 95% graduation rate along with 46% proficient in reading and 43% proficient in math. A top priority of our district is to grow and continually improve how students learn while maintaining a safe environment.
The salary will be negotiable with the contract to begin on July 1, 2023.
