Biztown

West Irvine students spent the day at the Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass. As part of their study of Financial Literacy, the students participated in an interactive simulation at Biztown. Students practiced concepts in financial literacy, community economics, work readiness and business management. During their day students are assigned a job at one of the businesses. They take breaks, receive paychecks, and have the opportunities to be consumers at the other businesses. Biztown allowed the students an opportunity to explore the free enterprise system and enhance their personal economic literacy. This was the first group of students from Estill County to ever participate in Biztown.
