Community Partnerships Brief features Estill’s Youth Services Center

The Kentucky Department of Education Division of Student Success recently published a brief that documents best practices in persistence to graduation in Kentucky.  This brief looks at best practices that highlight examples of quality programs so that practitioners can learn about the good work that is going on across the state.  As schools and districts assess the multiple factors that impact academic achievement and high school graduation rates, many have begun offering more holistic and integrated supports for students and their families in the areas of mental and physical health, nutrition, employment or college/career readiness services, emergency assistance, family counseling, and afterschool programs. This brief highlights the Estill County Middle School Youth Services Center as a model program in the area of Community Partnerships.  The brief demonstrates and recognizes the Estill County Middle School Youth Services Center as a key player in student success through the development of such partnerships.
