I am the mother of Sheena S. Meade, Nana to Asher, Ilana, and Sophia and the widow of E.B. Samples (married for 44 years).  I have lived in Estill County all of my life, growing up on a farm on Winchester Road area.  I have had the honor of serving our community as an educator for 20 years before retiring in 2015. (Eight years and 6th grade math teacher, six years as 21st Century After School Coordinator and Math Interventionists, and six years as District Gifted and Talented Coordinator.)

Education has been an integral part of my life having graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with B.S and Masters in Middle Grade Ed. math/social studies, an endorsement in Gifted Ed., plus additional post graduate hours. My late husband graduated from EKU with degrees in Elem. Ed. He taught for 33 years and subbed for 13 years. Our daughter has a degree in Criminal Justice Adm. from EKU.

It is my firm belief that education provides our children with the pathway to success in order their fullest potential. As school district, we must provide the best education possible and positive opportunities for our children to grow into successful adults in life.

While serving on this board, it is my goal to make decisions that are best for students and their education. They have so much potential locked inside of them.  We have to do that as a school board to provide the best education possible so our students can shoot for the moon and reach for the stars!  (I've always told my students, "Shoot for the moon and reach for the stars".) They are capable of achieving so much of provided the opportunity. Thank you for permitting me to service your children.
